How much is the registration fee?
The registration fee is $95 per season for children who require a uniform. A discount of $10 will be applied for returning players that do not need a new uniform. For a player to be eligible for the discount your team will have to have at least 4 returning players to be a returning team. A $10 discount is also available for siblings.
All players will receive new international uniforms for the Fall 2010 season. To receive your $10 discount, register your child by July 21st. Zia FC offers a $10 sibling discount applied to the 2nd and subsequent children until our August 31st registration deadline.
What is included in the registration fee?
Your $95 registration fee includes an 8 game season, a full uniform ( jersey,shorts & socks), Professional British Soccer coach on staff will attend practices and provide soccer skills instruction before and during Saturday games, weekly rewards for Good Sportsmanship (Zia Perks), an End of Season Celebration and a family friendly environment!
After registering what additional equipment must I purchase?
The only equipment required by Zia F.C. is shin guards. Soccer cleats and a soccer ball are recommended, but not required to play. These items can be purchased at most sporting goods stores for a reasonable price. In addition, Zia FC encourages equipment recycling and has an EXCHANGE section for donations of equipment to be exchanged. Typically you can find "package deals" where the items are bundled and you can save by purchasing all three at the same time. Your child must have shin guards in order to play!
Where and how often will practices be held?
Practices are coordinated by the coach, with input from parents on each team. We ask our parent volunteers to coordinate with other parents a good day, time and park for your team to practice. Zia FC tries to form teams by area, but for a multitude of reasons this is not always the case.
All Zia teams can practice at any city,county or APS joint use facility (most elementry & middle school fields). You may encounter an AYSO park monitor. Practice space is on a first come first serve basis. AYSO park monitors have no authority to tell you where or when you can practice.
How are teams formed?
When registering your child, we require you to enter the school your child attends. We use this information to form teams. Zia FC will attempt to form teams from surrounding schools. Late registrations will be placed on available teams
Can I request to be with a specific coach?
Yes, you can! If you know a parent who is coaching and you would like to be on their team, simply indicate it on the registration form when prompted to enter a friend or coach's name. All age groups have a limit on the number of player per team. If you have a specific team request, register early so you are guarunteed placement on that team.
I would like to play with a friend, sibling, neighbor, etc. Is that possible?
Yes, it is! To request to play with a certain participant, simply enter the friend's name and/or Coach/Team name on the registration form when prompted. Register early for guarunteed placement.
What times will my games be on Saturday?
Games will be scheduled between 9am and 5pm. A complete schedule will be given to each team within two weeks of the registration deadline.
What is the End of Season Celebration & World Cup Challenge?
The End of Season Celebration is how Zia Futbol Club congratulates our players for a job well done, as well as show our gratitude to our Volunteer Coaches and Team Parents for their time and effort. Zia FC typically provides jumpers and a snack during the celebration on the last day of games. Teams are welcome to personalize their celebration by bringing other food and drinks to enjoy at the celebration. More information about the End of Season Celebration will be available by the trophy order deadline. Zia refs, coaches & administrators will determine teams in each age group, based on ability to play for the 8th game World Cup.
Where will the games be played?
Games will be played at Vista Verde Park & Snow Park, which are West of Eubank just off Indian School.
REFUNDS FOR REGISTRATION FEES:
1) 75% refund if requested within 7 days before the registration deadline. 2) 25% refund when requested 7-14 days after registration deadline. 3) NO refunds will be issued 14 days after registration deadline.
