British Soccer Coach Joins Zia FC
by posted 08/02/2009

Zia is proud to announce that Coach Nick Reiger will be arriving March 22nd. This is a great opportunity for our kids to get some world class coaching. Coach Reiger will be available to attend practices. Coaches will need to schedule a time for him to attend your practice. He will also be conducting some clinics for the kids during his stay. We will have more info on that after we have time to schedule it. Coach Reiger will also be in charge of coming up with our weekly skills lesson that we do before each game.

Part of the Challenger program is also the cultural exchange aspect for the kids. All coaches Stay with host families while staying in the USA. It is the job of the club to find housing for the coach. We hosted a coach last season and my kids were very sad when the week was over. All you need is an extra room for a week or however long you can have him. All coaches are subject to a very strict back round check and various other checks before they receive a visa to come to the US. If you are interested in hosting a coach please call Brian at 263-1312 for more info.

Zia FC Code of Conduct For Parents,Coaches and Players
by posted 01/11/2009

In light of some situations we had last season, we felt it was a good time to remind everyone that we are all here for the children. This is not World Cup Soccer. We will not tolerate any unsportsmanlike conduct. As part of the registration process this season there will be a waiver you have to accept. Let's keep it FUN!!!!!

Children's sports are supposed to be fun - for the children. Unfortunately, many parents, fans and coaches don't realize that their actions, whether verbal or nonverbal, can have a lasting emotional effect on children. Too many children are leaving sports activities because the fun is unfairly taken away by adults.

Parents, fans and coaches who follow this simple code can help reinforce what sports are all about... BEING FUN FOR EVERYONE.

The essential elements of character-building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core principles: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and good citizenship. The highest potential of sports is achieved when competition reflects these "six pillars of character."

As a requirement to register a child to participate in any Zia FC Soccer program our parents must agree to our code of conduct during registration.

Discount For Returning Players & Siblings
by posted 01/10/2009

A $10 Discount will be given to players whose team is returning and no uniform is required.  To have a returning team you must have at least 4 Players from the previous seasons team.  Individual jerseys, shorts or socks may be ordered via our On line Store, as well as jerseys for coaches and parents who want to match their player.  If your child needs a new jersey, but is returning to the same team, we recommend you disregard the discount and get the entire uniform with your registration. It is cheaper than buying each piece separately.

New this season we will be offering a $10 discount for siblings.

What is included in the registration fee?

Your $85 registration fee includes an 8 game season, a full uniform (jersey, shorts & socks), soccer skills instruction before and during Saturday games, weekly rewards for Good Sportsmanship (Zia Perks), an End of Season Celebration and a family friendly environment!
